Following a career teaching Art and Design, Jan has focused on developing her own work using textiles and printmaking. She is inspired by science and the natural world, the human condition, social and environmental issues and the use of word and image. Jan uses a variety of printmaking processes to create her work including drypoint, monoprint, linocut, collagraph, etching, cyanotype and solar print. She has recently used printmaking on her sculpted textile figures and in making small books.
Jan’s current focus is on environmental issues, believing an image has the power to arrest and inform.
Jan takes part in the annual International Print Exchange and 20/20 Hotbed Press Print Exchange. She has sold work both in the UK and internationally.
