KEN, who has had no formal training, notes that art was the only subject he enjoyed at school and that enjoyment still lasts today. Since retiring he has attended several daytime art classes, ‘flirting’ with various mediums. In recent years he became involved with printmaking at South Hill Park and currently he is concentrating on wood and lino cuts. Ken’s training as a mechanical engineer is often reflected in aspects of his art. He has been encouraged by sales of his work and winning first prize for ‘The Forgotten Ones’ at Reading University in 2009. For Ken what makes printmaking so fascinating is that each new project is the start of a voyage of discovery.
